Climate-resilient infrastructure

A quick intro

Coastal and riverine areas, in particular, face increasing threats to their infrastructure from floods, heavy rainfall, storms, and rising sea levels. Heat and drought also pose challenges, especially for buildings. Critical sectors like energy and water supply, transportation, and medical services are of utmost importance as they underpin the functionality of society. Consequently, it’s crucial to assess and minimize climate-related risks and potential disasters to reduce harm.

Given that large infrastructure projects typically have a lengthy lifespan, they must be designed to withstand significant climatic changes for decades. Therefore, it’s vital to explicitly consider climate risks when planning new infrastructure projects and to retrofit existing infrastructure as effectively as possible. Additionally, effective risk management plays a pivotal role in mitigating the impacts of climate-related events.

Our mission:

We assist the public sector in incorporating climate adaptation into infrastructure planning, development, and assessment. This involves evaluating the costs, benefits, and financial viability of individual climate adaptation measures within specific projects.
