Rebel Café: Fast Fashion

On Monday, 13 October, we’re hosting a special edition of Rebel Café in collaboration with MVO Nederland at Jeugdtheater Hofplein in Rotterdam – a vibrant and creative venue.
Students from De Theaterhavo/vwo will perform their one-act play Scarlet Dream, offering a vivid, young-person’s perspective on the fast fashion industry and the stark contrast between its production and consumption sides.
The performance will be preceded by a keynote on environmental impact and consumer behaviour in fashion, delivered by Bart Budding (Rebel) and Florien Cramwinckel (PhD, behavioural psychology). After the play, Bianca Streng (MVO Nederland) will lead an open mic discussion with panel members. The evening will conclude with drinks in the theatre foyer.
What is Rebel Café?
Rebel Café is the pop-up café of Rebel, a global strategic consultancy addressing social issues such as sustainability and the circular economy. Each edition focuses on a pressing theme, combining meaningful discussions with informal networking.

This theatrical event is organised in collaboration with MVO Nederland, the largest corporate social responsibility network in the Netherlands. By blending the creative power of theatre and debate with practical insights and networking opportunities, we aim to turn awareness of fast fashion into real action.

- 3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Doors open
- 4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Keynote speech on environmental impact and our behaviour when purchasing fashion items by Bart Budding (Rebel) and Florien Cramwinckel (PhD behavioural psychologist)
- 4:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Theatre play ‘Scarlet Dream’ by De Theaterhavo/vwo
- 17:00–17:30: Open mic with panel members, facilitated by Bianca Streng (MVO Nederland)
- 17:30–18:30: Drinks and informal discussion
