Aqua for All Lead Impact Advisor
As strategic impact advisor, Rebel supports the Aqua for All team to further refine and implement its impact management system. Rebel also provides transaction advise during the process towards closing a variety of strategic partnership projects with financial institutions across Kenya and beyond.
The challenge
Despite the efforts of national governments and the international community, the world is still off track to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG6) of universal access to safe drinking water and sanitation. The challenges are further exacerbated by climate change.
The approach
The objective of Aqua for All is focused on accelerating the efforts to achieve SDG 6, specifically to facilitate and finance innovative and scalable solutions for water and sanitation in Africa and South Asia. As Lead Impact Advisor, Rebel has supported the Aqua for All team to develop a comprehensive impact management system, including a Theory of Change that visualises Aqua for All’s dual approach to bridge the service and finance gaps in the WASH sector, with a specific focus on climate and gender where applicable.
Rebel developed an impact handbook for the Aqua for All team and a social and environmental impact measurement and management toolkit, that can be used by financial institutions up to financial close and beyond.
Impact
Rebel is dedicated to support the delivery on Aqua for All’s strategy to unlock commercial financing from local financial institutions for the water sector in Africa and Asia.
